YAKUSHIMA — Giclée Art Print

YAKUSHIMA is about the feeling of disappearing into nature and coming back to yourself.

I was inspired by Yakushima, the lush subtropical island of Japan, with its ancient cedar forests, dense greenery and extraordinary sense of stillness. What stayed with me wasn't simply the landscape itself, but the feeling of being surrounded by something much older and bigger than yourself.

The artwork grew from that feeling.

Layered greens move from lime and chartreuse through teal and deep forest tones, creating a composition that feels alive and constantly shifting. There is movement within the colour, but also a sense of depth — like looking into dense foliage and discovering something new the longer you stay with it.

Nature has always been an important source of inspiration for me. I love the way it can change our state of mind almost without us noticing. A walk through a forest, the sound of leaves moving, light filtering through trees — suddenly you breathe differently.

That is what I wanted YAKUSHIMA to hold.

Rather than creating a literal landscape, I wanted to capture the sensation of being immersed in it — that feeling of escape, renewal and quiet energy.

At 495 × 700 mm / 19.5 × 27.6 inches, YAKUSHIMA brings a strong presence of colour into an interior while retaining a sense of calm. It works beautifully in living spaces, bedrooms and nature-led interiors, particularly alongside natural materials, wood, stone and tactile textiles.

YAKUSHIMA is a limited edition of 40, with every print signed and numbered by me.

Each print is produced to order in Britain using high-quality Giclée printing on 308gsm archival fine art paper. The smooth matte finish and slightly off-white base faithfully reproduce the colour, detail and character of the original artwork.

Production & Delivery

As each print is produced to order, please allow 7–10 working days for your artwork to be produced, signed, carefully prepared and dispatched.

Your print is rolled in acid-free tissue paper and sent in a protective cardboard tube to help ensure it reaches you safely.

On arrival, gently unroll and lay flat for approximately 24 hours before framing.
