RIO — Large Floor Cushion

RIO began with my love of colour, movement and the infectious energy of Rio de Janeiro.

I wanted to capture something of the city’s warmth and rhythm — the intense blue of the sky and sea, glowing sunset tones, flashes of green and the feeling of being surrounded by colour and life.

The abstract artwork brings together flowing brushstrokes in azure blue, sunset orange, lavender and green, creating a composition that feels spontaneous, joyful and full of movement.

I love the idea of taking an artwork off the wall and bringing it into the way we actually live. RIO was designed to be enjoyed — to sit on the floor, lean against it, curl up with a book or gather around it with friends.

At 90 × 90 cm, it has a generous presence without feeling formal. It brings colour and personality into a room while remaining wonderfully relaxed.

Made in Britain from premium linen, the cushion is printed on both sides and finished with piped edges and a concealed zip. The artwork wraps around the cushion, so whichever way it sits, there is colour and expression to discover.

For me, RIO is about bringing a little more joy, warmth and freedom into the spaces we live in.
