SIMBA Collage

SIMBA Collage
SIMBA — Original Abstract Collage
SIMBA is a bold, expressive collage about energy, instinct and the quiet confidence of taking up space.
I wanted this piece to have presence. Not the kind that demands attention, but the kind you notice almost immediately — an artwork that changes the feeling of a room simply by being there.
The work developed through layers of paper, texture, colour and intuitive mark-making. I moved between adding and removing, bringing elements together and allowing others to disappear, until the composition began to hold its own rhythm.
There is something instinctive about the way SIMBA came together. I wasn't trying to make everything perfect. I wanted the marks to retain their energy and the materials to reveal something of the hand behind the work.
For me, SIMBA carries a feeling of strength, warmth and freedom. It has a boldness to it, but also a sense of sophistication that allows it to sit comfortably within a considered space.
I imagine this work in a home where art is chosen because it means something to the person living with it — alongside beautiful materials, treasured objects and pieces collected over time. It could equally hold its own within a gallery, a luxury interior or a carefully curated hospitality space.
This is artwork for someone who doesn't want their walls to simply look beautiful. They want them to feel like them.
