WILD BIRDS — Colour Accent Cushion

WILD BIRDS is about freedom, movement and the feeling of being completely open to possibility.

The artwork captures birds in free flight above a deep blue ocean, with azure blue, turquoise, sunshine yellow and vibrant orange-red moving across the surface in expressive brushstrokes.

I was drawn to the simple beauty of birds in flight — that moment when they leave the ground and move effortlessly through open space. There is something incredibly liberating about it, and I wanted to bring some of that feeling into the artwork.

The deep blues create a sense of depth and calm, while the brighter colours bring energy and optimism. Together they create a piece that feels joyful, uplifting and full of movement.

At 50 × 50 cm, WILD BIRDS brings a strong but relaxed burst of colour to a sofa, bed or favourite chair. It works beautifully on its own or layered with other SO KLARA cushions.

I love the idea that artwork can become part of the way we live. A cushion can bring colour and comfort into a room, but it can also carry a feeling — in this case, a little reminder of freedom.

Made in Britain from premium linen, the cushion is printed on both sides and finished with piped edges and a concealed zip.
