RIO — Colour Accent Cushion

RIO is inspired by the colour, rhythm and infectious energy of Rio de Janeiro.

I wanted to capture something of the city that stays with you — the intense blue of the ocean and sky, glowing sunsets, lush green landscapes and the feeling of colour and movement everywhere you look.

The artwork brings together azure blue, sunset orange, lavender and green in expressive abstract forms. The colours move across the composition with a sense of freedom and spontaneity, creating something that feels warm, joyful and full of life.

For me, RIO is less about depicting a particular place and more about capturing a feeling — the freedom of being somewhere vibrant, the warmth of the sun and that wonderful sense of possibility that travel can give us.

At 50 × 50 cm, it brings a generous burst of colour to a sofa, bed or favourite chair. It can brighten a quieter interior or become part of a more expressive combination of colour, pattern and texture.

I love taking my artwork beyond the wall and into the objects we live with. Textiles make art part of everyday life — something to see, touch and enjoy rather than simply look at.

Made in Britain from premium linen, RIO is printed on both sides and finished with piped edges and a concealed zip.
