LA CASA — Original Monoprint

LA CASA began with the idea that home isn't always a place — sometimes it's a feeling.

It can be the warmth of familiar surroundings, the memory of a particular room, the feeling of belonging, or simply that sense of being somewhere you can completely relax and be yourself.

I wanted to explore that feeling through abstract form rather than depicting a literal house. Layers of colour, texture and intuitive marks come together to create a sense of warmth and familiarity, while the composition remains open enough for each viewer to find their own connection to it.

The work developed intuitively through the monoprinting process, allowing gesture, pressure and chance to play a part in the final image. I love the way this process leaves traces of the hand within the work — marks that can't be completely planned or repeated.

For me, LA CASA is about belonging, comfort and the emotional places we carry with us.

It is an expressive original artwork for someone who wants their home to feel personal and considered — not simply decorated, but filled with pieces that have a story and create an emotional response.
