HOME SWEET HOME — Original Monoprint

HOME SWEET HOME explores the feeling of home — not simply the place we live, but the sense of comfort, belonging and familiarity that makes somewhere feel truly ours.

For me, home is made up of small things: familiar surroundings, memories, objects we have chosen to live with and the feeling of being able to completely relax in a space. It is something emotional as much as physical.

I wanted to express that feeling through abstract form, colour and texture, rather than depicting a particular room or house. Layers of marks and subtle tonal shifts build a sense of warmth and grounding, while the more spontaneous elements keep the work feeling alive.

The piece developed intuitively through the monoprinting process, allowing gesture, pressure and the movement of ink to shape the composition. I love the balance between what is deliberate and what happens unexpectedly during printing.

HOME SWEET HOME is a gentle reminder that the spaces around us can influence how we feel — and that the artwork we choose to live with can become part of that feeling.

Created for those who value original, thoughtfully made artwork with emotional depth and character, rather than art chosen simply to fill a wall.
