LA FEMME — Original Mixed-Media Painting

LA FEMME is a celebration of womanhood in all its complexity — strength and softness, confidence and vulnerability, stillness and movement.

I didn't want to create a literal portrait of a woman. Instead, I wanted to explore the feeling of being a woman through colour, gesture and movement — the different sides of ourselves that can exist together.

The painting developed intuitively through layers of expressive brushwork and drawing. Some marks feel strong and deliberate, while others are softer and more spontaneous. Together they create a sense of movement and presence, allowing the work to feel both grounded and fluid.

For me, LA FEMME is about presence — knowing who you are, allowing yourself to take up space and embracing all the different parts of yourself.

There is strength in the painting, but it isn't a hard or rigid strength. It is the kind that can coexist with tenderness, intuition and emotion.

I created this piece for someone who connects with expressive art that carries feeling and personality — an artwork that can bring confidence, warmth and character into a space.
