MAUPITI — Colour Accent Cushion

MAUPITI is inspired by the quiet beauty of the islands of French Polynesia — turquoise lagoons, warm light, coral reefs and lush green landscapes stretching towards the sea.

I wanted this piece to capture that feeling of stillness you experience when you are somewhere completely surrounded by nature. The flowing watercolour and ink forms move gently across the design, bringing together tranquil blues and greens with touches of vibrant colour.

There is something about water that has always drawn me in. Its movement is constantly changing, yet it can also make us feel incredibly calm. MAUPITI grew from that contrast — movement and stillness existing together.

I love bringing these feelings into the home through textiles. A cushion can be a small object, but colour, texture and imagery can change the atmosphere of an entire room.

At 50 × 50 cm, MAUPITI works beautifully on a sofa, bed or favourite chair, either alone or layered with other pieces from the SO KLARA collection.

Made in Britain from premium linen, it is printed on both sides and finished with piped edges and a concealed zip.
